Some of the links on this site earn a commission, and HumbleWorth stays free because of them. This page sets out exactly which relationships are paid and which are not.
HumbleWorth sends people to third-party services when a domain value estimate implies a useful next step: registering a name, catching one at the drop, buying one that is already taken, selling one you own, hosting it, or transacting safely. Some of those relationships pay us. Many do not.
The three labels you'll see
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Paid link · we may earn a commission | We earn a commission if you sign up or buy through the link. The price you pay is the same either way. The commission comes out of the provider's margin, not your pocket. |
| Sponsored by [name] · paid placement | The placement was bought as a fixed fee by the named sponsor, independent of whether you click or buy. Sponsored placements are labelled as such and never replace or reorder estimate results. |
| Unpaid recommendation | We link there because it is the right next step, and we are paid nothing for it. Most of the services on this site fall into this category today. |
What we link to, by category
Whether a category is currently monetized changes as programs are approved, so the status below is a snapshot rather than a contract. The label shown next to each individual link on the site is always current.
| Category | What it's for | Paid? |
|---|---|---|
| Domain registrars | Registering an available domain, and transferring or renewing existing ones. | Commission |
| Backorder and drop-catch services | Attempting to catch an expiring domain the moment it releases. | Commission |
| Domain marketplaces | Searching for a listed domain, or listing one of your own for sale. | Not paid |
| Brokers | Approaching an owner to buy an unlisted name, or selling a premium one. | Not paid |
| Hosting and website builders | Putting a site on a domain you have just registered. | Not paid |
| Escrow services | Holding funds safely during a private domain sale. | Not paid |
The specific services behind each category, and what each one is bad at, are listed on Recommended Tools.
What commercial relationships never affect
Estimates are produced by a model that has no knowledge of our partners. No provider can pay to change an estimate, to have a domain appear in Daily Gems, or to change where a domain ranks in that list. We also don't publish "best of" rankings, because we have no methodology that would justify one.
The clearest test of that is the registrar price comparison. It orders registrars by what they charge to renew, marks the one we are paid by, and leaves it wherever the arithmetic puts it.
What this means for you
- You pay the same price whether you use our links or not.
- Estimates and Daily Gems rankings are never influenced by who pays us.
- Every commercial link is labelled where it appears, not only in this document.
- Commissions and sponsorships are what keep HumbleWorth free to use.
How outbound links work
Commercial links pass through a HumbleWorth address (/go/…) before redirecting to
the provider. That lets us count clicks without relying on third-party tracking scripts, and
lets us change or pause a provider without editing every page. What that step records is
described in our Privacy Policy.
Direct sponsorships
A limited number of placements are available to buy directly. Sponsored content is always labelled, never dressed up as an estimate result or as site navigation, and never permitted to make claims we can't verify. Contact us if you'd like to discuss one.
