Sponsorship / 2 September 2026
Reach a domain investor at the moment they decide.
Four desks, each exclusive to a single buyer, each priced against what that buyer already pays elsewhere, with the clicks we measured beside it. Rolling monthly, no contract, and the comparable behind each desk is on this page.
| Desk | Clicks | Month |
|---|---|---|
| Registrars works out to $0.17 a click | 3,003 | $500 |
| Marketplaces and brokers works out to $0.29 a click | 1,914 | $550 |
| Drop-catchers and backorder services works out to $0.23 a click | 547 | $125 |
| Domain research, history and appraisal tools works out to $0.15 a click | 649 | $100 |
| Whole site every desk and unit, one sponsor | 6,837 | $2,250 |
Buying every desk and unit separately comes to $1,805. The whole site is $2,250, about 25% more, because it is exclusive across all of them.
Founding rate. Nobody has run here yet, so the first sponsor of any placement pays 50% of list price on that placement for 3 months. The whole site is $2,250 a month, or $1,125 for a first sponsor's first 3 months.

Almost every reader is appraising a domain they own, valuing one they are about to buy, or working a drop list. It is a small audience and the honest pitch is the targeting rather than the size. Measured 17 August 2026 to 2 September 2026.
Four desks, four buyers
Inventory is grouped by which buyer wants it, not by which page it sits on. A registrar wants the moment a name is free; a marketplace wants the moment an owner prices something they already hold. Selling slot by slot would mean each buyer paying for the two thirds they have no use for.
Some rows measure zero clicks over the window. They are left on the desk they belong to rather than hidden, because a placement that measured nothing is a fact a buyer should see. A zero row is inventory the sponsor still gets, and it adds nothing to the price.

Priced against DNJournal, Home page leaderboard, 728x90, $550 a month, read 4 September 2026. Shared display beside news on the home page of the industry's trade publication, one of eleven positions sold there. Not exclusive, and not beside an action a reader is taking on a specific name.
A registrar's alternative to this desk is its own affiliate link on the same clicks, which paid this site between $138 and $490 a month over fifteen months, on results only and shared with every other registrar the site links to. The desk is priced just above the top of that range, so a registrar pays about what its best affiliate month earned this site and gets the category exclusively on top. The ceiling is DNJournal's home page leaderboard at $550, the shared display position registrars already buy.
The impression column counts instrumented slots only: a dash is a slot whose impression beacon is unreliable, which is not the same as a slot nobody saw.

Priced against DomainInvesting, Sidebar unit, 395x125, $1,200 a month, read 4 September 2026. One sidebar unit on a domain-investing blog with traffic of a similar order to this site, the only unit it lists as available. A single shared unit, not a site buy: it bounds the whole-site price from below.
Marketplaces and brokers buy two things elsewhere: a shared leaderboard on DNJournal at $550, the floor, and the one sidebar unit DomainInvesting has left at $1,200, the ceiling. The desk is priced at the floor. At Sedo's median sale and its 15% commission, the buyer-side clicks on this desk are worth in the region of $470 a month to a marketplace at a modest sale rate.
The impression column counts instrumented slots only: a dash is a slot whose impression beacon is unreliable, which is not the same as a slot nobody saw.

Priced against NameBio, Featured listing, 30 days, $125 a month, read 4 September 2026. A rotating listing at the top of every page of the sales database, bought by auction houses, drop-catchers and marketplaces to promote names to investors. It rotates with other listings rather than being exclusive. The page blocks non-browser requests, so it was read in a browser.
Drop-catchers and backorder services have no affiliate programme to offer instead, so there is no per-result alternative to this desk. The ceiling is NameBio's featured listing at $125 for thirty days, which is what Park.io, Catched and GoDaddy Auctions buy today to put names in front of the same investors. The desk is priced at that ceiling and not above it until a backorder has been tracked to it.

Research and appraisal tools mostly run affiliate programmes, dotDB at up to 30%, so a vendor's alternative is a free link that pays on results, worth roughly $55 a month at a modest signup rate. The desk is priced below NameBio's $125 featured listing, the ceiling, at what a vendor pays to make that cost fixed and exclusive.

- Valuation sidebar
- $380/mo
- Presented by, Daily Gems
- $150/mo
The one conventional display unit on the site: a bordered card in the sidebar of a valuation result, desktop only. It sits beside a finished valuation on the page where this site is most read, where DNJournal sells the same size beside news.
Priced against DNJournal, Home page rectangle, 300x250, $380 a month.
Priced at DNJournal's home page 300x250, $380, the same size on the industry's trade publication: the ceiling, and the closest like-for-like unit on the card.
A line and a wordmark under the Daily Gems masthead. It carries no link colour of its own and it changes no ranking, no screening threshold and the order of no name on the list. Priced per reader rather than against a comparable, because no publisher in this niche sells a naming right and nobody clicks a wordmark.
6,891 genuine sessions a month on /gems at about $22 per thousand, rounded to the nearest $25. No published comparable bounds a naming right, so this is the one price on the card with no comparable beside it, and the one that is judgement.
Not sold on their own
Each of these measures under 60 genuine clicks a month, too small to invoice on their own. Each row says which desk it comes with, and every placement still goes to one sponsor. Bundling them free is more honest than pricing them to be discounted.
- Build and host
- About 54 genuine clicks a month between them. Included with any desk for a builder or host, not sold separately.
- Escrow and transfer
- About 10 genuine clicks a month. Included with the sell side desk where the sponsor also runs escrow.
- Portfolio cleanup
- About 9 genuine clicks a month. Included with the sell side desk.
- Declared, not on any desk
- gems_inline_1 is retired and recorded about 7 genuine clicks a month while it still ran; the other three are declared in the placement registry and recorded no impression and no click over the window. None is priced. A whole-site sponsor gets any of them that goes live at no change in price, and a placement joins a desk at the next re-read once it has measured something.
- Footer and tools page
- The tools page counters are dominated by automated traffic, at 52% suspected bot. Included at no charge and quoted at no volume, because there is no honest volume to quote.
How a price is set
Each desk and the sidebar is priced at or below a published price that a buyer in this industry already pays for the nearest thing elsewhere, and each desk says what its own buyer's alternative is today. None of these comparables is like-for-like, and each row says what differs. The naming right is the one price with no comparable, and the whole site is checked against a band rather than a single price; both say so where they appear. Nothing is priced on impressions. Clicks are measured and shown so you can work out an effective rate. They are not what the price is based on, and they are not guaranteed.
Each comparable was read on the date shown, and the readings are kept in the repository beside the card. Monthly figures are the measured seventeen-day daily rate multiplied by 30. The window opens on the day this version of the site reached production, so no earlier build is mixed in, but seventeen days is still short and every monthly count here is a projection. The counts are disclosure: a desk is a flat monthly price, and the monthly report shows what ran.

What the whole site is checked against
Taking the whole site is every desk and both units, with no other sponsor anywhere, and it is checked against what taking over a comparable title costs. The band is $2,000 to $3,250 a month, and the whole site is $2,250.
No publisher in this niche sells a whole-site exclusive, so there is no direct comparable for this price. It is checked against three market rates instead. DomainInvesting sells one sidebar unit at $1,200 with everything else sold out, so taking a whole site on similar traffic must cost more than one unit: that is the low end, $2,000. DNJournal's eleven home page positions gross $3,230, and one Domaining headline at a 30-day pace is $3,000: the high end is the larger of the two, rounded up to a $25 step, $3,250. Inside that band the price is the desks and units added together plus about a quarter for exclusivity across all of them, the low end of the 25% to 50% general sponsorship benchmarks put on category exclusivity, and a judgement rather than a measurement.

How it is sold
Rolling monthly subscription, and nothing else on offer. That is deliberate rather than a concession. Traffic has fallen 40.1% in six months, and selling a year of it up front would mean taking money for delivery we have good reason to doubt. A subscription prices the risk correctly for both sides: you leave the month it stops working, and we have to keep earning it.
- Founding rate: half of list for three months
- The first sponsor of a placement pays half of that placement's listed monthly price for their first three months. It applies per placement, to whoever takes that placement first, and the three months run from its first live day rather than from the day this card went up. A second sponsor taking a different desk gets it on that desk, because that desk is still unproven. Half of the listed price, billed to the cent where that is not a round number. It ends for a placement once three months of delivery exist, and the placement then continues at the list price it was quoted at, which is the rate that is held from then on.
- Rolling monthly, no contract
- Every desk is a monthly subscription. No minimum term, no annual commitment, no multi-year deal at any discount. Cancel whenever you like.
- First refusal at renewal
- A placement is never offered to anyone else while its sponsor is in good standing, and the rate it started on holds for as long as the subscription runs unbroken. If a subscription lapses, it runs to the end of the month already paid for, and the outgoing sponsor is then offered the placement first, at whatever the card says at that point, for seven days before it goes to the next buyer, including a direct competitor.
- Your price is held while you stay
- The list rate you are quoted is the rate you keep for as long as the subscription runs unbroken; a founding discount is the one exception, and it ends after its three months. If you cancel and come back, you come back on whatever the card says then. The card is re-read against its comparables and its measurements each quarter, and a change applies to new subscriptions only.
- Clicks are shown, not guaranteed
- The click counts on this card are what the placements measured over the window, shown so you can work out an effective rate. No click or impression figure is guaranteed, and none is invoiced. The monthly report shows what ran.
- Exclusivity
- One sponsor per placement, enforced in code rather than in a diary. Two campaigns claiming the same slot fails the build before it ships.
- Reporting
- A delivery report every month: genuine impressions, genuine clicks, suspected automated clicks, split by placement. Available on request at any point, not only at renewal.
- Disclosure
- Every unit renders "Sponsored by {name} · paid placement" adjacent to the action, and every outbound link carries rel="sponsored". Not negotiable and not removable at any price.
- Creative
- No image assets, no third-party script, no tracking pixel. A sponsored unit is the site's own component carrying your name, one line of copy and your destination, so it survives content blockers and cannot slow the page down. Send us a name, a line and a URL.

- No sponsor has ever run here
- These are opening rates on inventory with no delivered campaign behind it. No case study, no benchmark conversion rate, nobody to ask for a reference. The measurements are real. The prices are a first attempt at converting them into money.
- The inventory window is seventeen days
- 2026-08-17 to 2026-09-02. It starts on 17 August because the impression quality split deployed the day before, and a longer window would mix days that recorded traffic quality with days that did not. The window opens on the day this version of the site reached production, so no earlier build is mixed in. It is fixed rather than rolling, and it is still short.
- Half of outbound clicks are automated
- 52.0% of outbound clicks over the seventeen-day window are classified suspected bot at the redirect. That is not a level: 35.8% in the week of 17 August, 65.2% in the week of 24 August, and 52.6% over the last three days. The step lands on 23 to 24 August and four placements on the valuation result page carry 78% of the automated clicks. We do not yet understand it. Every figure quoted here already has them removed and no invoice includes them.
- The valuation result carries the worst of it
- 72.2% of raw clicks on the valuation result page are classified automated, against about 22% on Daily Gems. Two follow-up actions there run above 95%. Every figure quoted here is what is left after that deduction, which is why the valuation numbers look smaller than a raw click count would suggest. Six days earlier the position was the other way round, with Gems the dirtier page. We do not yet understand the reversal, and it is one of the reasons nothing here is sold on a term.
- Traffic is falling
- Down 40.1% in daily sessions since February 2026. The month-by-month figures are above. This is why everything is a rolling subscription and nothing is a term.
Not for sale at any price
- The newsletter
- 37 confirmed subscribers and no campaign has ever been sent. There is nothing here worth selling and it is not offered at any price.
- The auction record and its price history
- The per-auction price history page is still being built. The existing /auctions page also records 116 outbound clicks a day against 19 genuine sessions a day on its auction_row_audit placement, which means something automated is walking its links. Not a basis for billing anybody until that is understood.
- Valuation numbers and Gems ranking
- No sponsor changes an estimate, a rank, a screening threshold or the order of a list. The ranking inputs are documented and none of them is money.
- The accuracy page
- /about/accuracy carries the unflattering half of our own measurements and runs no commercial units at all.
- Editorial and guides
- No sponsored articles, no paid guides, no paid mentions inside written content. The research modules are labelled units, not copy.
Start with the figures, not the invoice.
Tell us which desk interests you and we will send the current delivery for its placements, measured over the last full month, before you commit to anything.
Audience from GA4, 17 August 2026 to 2 September 2026, bot traffic removed. Inventory from the redirect and impression counters, 17 August 2026 to 2 September 2026.
